"Summer is Surely Here" (2003)

The past week or so has seen rain, westerly winds and cool days, cooler nights.  Not exactly summer.  So I delved into the far flung archives of the internet and found this memory lurking in Pete's farmblog, when he wooffed on the Isle of Wight in 2003.  All of five years ago.  I thought Pete used the term anticyclone in the entry but appear to have been mistaken.  Even so, just where have all the anticyclones gone?  Summer isn't summer without at least one sustained anticyclone yet I have a suspicion that 2003 might have been the last good one to influence southern England.

More:  This just in, there won't be a summer this year!
